Audiological Criterias ın Cochlear Implantation

Cochlear implants are used in bilateral sensorineural hearing loss where there is very little or no benefit from the conventional hearing aids. Recent developments widened the evaluation criteria. Results show variability among users. Results show the importance of preoperative evaluation criteria. This in turn demonstrates the importance of the implant team. This team consists of an otolaryngologist, audiologist, educational audiologist, psychologist, and neurologist. After medical, audiological, speech and language, psychological and radiological evaluation cochlear implantation is decided together with the implant team. Children particularly need special evaluation. Objective and subjective test methods should be used together.
