Surgical Treatment Of Patients With Nazal Polyps

Nasal polyposis is a multifactorial chronic inflammatory disorder of the upper respiratory tract, whose etiology is not yet well known. In case of treatment failure with appropriate medication, surgery and nowadays in particular, endoscopic sinus surgery is the treatment of choice. However, meticulous postoperative care, follow-ups and maintenance of topical steroids are important not only to preserve good postoperative results but also to decrease the frequency if not the need for recurrent surgical interventions.Keywords: Nasal polyps, therapy, surgeryTurkiye Klinikleri J Surg Med Sci 2006, 2(23):38-48
