Morbidity, Mortality And Complications In Obtructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome

aöroloji AD, Uludağ Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, BURSA Patients having diagnosis of Obtructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) have a lot of risks in view of systemic disease development. OSAS accompanied by disorders of which hypertension is the main one, congestive heart failure, myocard ischemia, stroke, pulmonary hypertension and depression, one of neuropschyiciatric diseases most frequently the seen. Due to of daytime sleepiness, patient with OSAS have inattention, forgetfulness, disorders in cognitive functions owing to difficulty in performing their daily activities. The rate of having traffic accident is high in patiens with OSAS. They are suspectible to accident owing to decrease in abilites which are of great significance while driving. OSAS is a disease which is commonly seen in society and a disease whose incidence increases as people age, İn order ages as we take into consideration that the possibility of developing a specially cardiovascular,stroke and pulmonary disease belonging to other system increases, the development of OSAS is inevitable.
