Clinical Evaluation In Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome: Special Considerations In Physical Examination (chest Disease Specialist’s Perspective)

aGöğüs Hastalıkları AD, Uludağ Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, BURSA OSAS is syndrome that characterized by recurrent episodes of upper airway obstruction and generally arteriel oxygen desaturation. The “gold standart” for making the diagnosis of OSAS is polysomnography (PSG). Outside the PSG, most important way for diagnosis is the clinical findings. Physical examination, is by no means spesific for OSAS. In this chapter, important points of physical examination will be mentioned in aspect of chest disease. The disease associates with OSAS are COPD, asthma and restrictive lung diseases.
