Treatment Of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome: Soft Palate Surgery

aKulak Burun Boğaz AD, Çukurova Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, ADANA The most frequent surgical approaches in the treatment of patients with snoring and obstructive sleep apnea are directed to the soft palate. The main purpose of this surgery, also named as oropharyngeal surgery, is to increase the dimensions of retropalatal region. Seventy five percent of the patients had soft palate problems either isolated or in combination with other parts of the upper airway. Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty is the most frequently applied surgery towards this region.
