Problems And Solutions Involving The Facial Nerve In Parotid Gland Surgery

The extratemporal part of facial nerve both in and outside the parotid gland in face, is one of the most complex anatomic structure. Moreover this complex structure is in close proximity with the other important structures of this areas. Any harm to this anatomy may result in serious cosmetic, functional and as a result psico-social problems.
Any surgeon attempting the surgery of this area should have the knowledge and experience to approach every parts of nerve without any harm.
