Surgery Of The Salivary Gland

Surgery of the salivary glands has developed as in all branches of surgery with better understanding of the involved pathological processes and the anatomy. .Surgery of the salivary glands is currently performed more commonly and more securely. In last years the improvements in imaging techniques which provide better soft tissue resolution and more accurate pathologic distinction (MRI), diagnosis of the tumor histology with more sensitive techniques preoperatively (FNAB) and solving the problem of reaching the parapharyngeal space and skull base have contributed in these advances substantially.Keywords: Salivary glands, parotid glandTurkiye Klinikleri J Surg Med Sci 2007, 3(36):49-56
